The Milwaukee Brewers ended the Los Angeles Dodgers‘ 2026 season with a four-game sweep in the National League Championship Series. The sweep also ended their bid for a historic World Series three-peat.
Game 4 at Dodger Stadium delivered the finishing blow as Milwaukee secured a 6-4 comeback victory. The Dodgers needed a win to stay alive and jumped ahead 4-0 in the second inning, highlighted by a three-run home run from superstar Shohei Ohtani.

Dodgers starter Tyler Glasnow retired the first 10 batters he faced. However, the Brewers refused to back down. They scored two runs in the fourth inning and two more in the fifth to tie it at 4-4.
Then Garrett Mitchell launched a go-ahead solo home run in the sixth. His 409-foot leadoff drive came off Dodgers reliever Tanner Scott. Finally, David Hamilton added a two-out solo shot in the ninth for insurance.
Meanwhile, Milwaukee’s bullpen slammed the door. JoJo Romero earned the win, and Aaron Ashby worked three scoreless innings for the save.
Brewers Head to First World Series Since 1982
The Brewers are now heading to their first World Series appearance in 44-years. The Brewers also made history Thursday night. No other major league club had completed a postseason sweep after the same opponent swept it the year before. The Dodgers swept the Brewers in the 2025 NLCS.
Milwaukee also became the first team to sweep a best-of-seven postseason series after trailing in every game. Jake Bauers took NLCS MVP honors against the Dodgers. He went 4-for-14 with a double, a home run, six RBIs and three walks.
Still, Los Angeles had chances late. It stranded a runner at third base in the sixth, seventh and eighth innings. Ohtani’s blast was the only home run of the series for Los Angeles.
