Jacksonville Jaguars wide receiver Parker Washington is expected to return to practice next week after missing time this summer with an undisclosed injury. ESPN’s Adam Schefter shared the news Friday morning on X, formerly Twitter.
Washington entered training camp as part of a crowded receiver room, but he quickly reestablished the connection he built with quarterback Trevor Lawrence during the stretch run of the 2025 season, a bond that carried into this year’s camp before the injury interrupted his reps. Washington finished as the WR12 in fantasy scoring over the final nine weeks of last season, while Lawrence ranked as the QB1 over that same span, underscoring how often and how effectively the two connected down the stretch.
By most accounts, Washington has again looked like Lawrence’s favorite target for much of camp, despite the missed practice time. His availability for Week 1 does not appear to be in question, and his expected return to practice next week should ease any lingering concern about his health as the regular season approaches.
The fourth-year receiver still carries a middle-round price tag in fantasy drafts, currently going as the WR31 by average draft position. That figure places him behind several receivers without the same established chemistry at quarterback, a gap that could make Washington a name worth targeting as managers fill out their rosters in the middle rounds of upcoming drafts.
Washington’s rapport with Lawrence, built over the second half of 2025, gives him a level of continuity that not every mid-round receiver can claim entering a new season. If that connection carries over from camp into the regular season, Washington has a reasonable path to outperforming his current draft cost.
For managers weighing receiver options in the middle rounds, Washington’s late-season production, established role, and unaffected Week 1 outlook make him a name worth monitoring before the season opener.
