Jacksonville Jaguars history & legends

The Jacksonville Jaguars joined the NFL as an expansion team in 1995, the same year as the Carolina Panthers. Jacksonville made a remarkably fast rise, reaching the AFC Championship Game in just its second season. The Jaguars compete in the AFC South.

Playoff history

The 1996 Jaguars pulled off one of the biggest upsets in playoff history by beating the heavily favored Denver Broncos in Denver on their way to the AFC Championship Game. Jacksonville returned to the conference title game after the 1999 season, when it went 14-2, and again after the 2017 season behind a dominant “Sacksonville” defense. The Jaguars are still chasing their first Super Bowl appearance.

Best players in Jaguars history

  • Fred Taylor – The franchise’s all-time leading rusher.
