The Milwaukee Brewers will win the 2026 World Series in six games because their offense presents the right challenge for Tampa Bay Rays‘ pitching, and their bullpen gives manager Pat Murphy enough flexibility to finish the job.
Milwaukee’s sweep of the Los Angeles Dodgers in the National League Championship Series established its championship credentials. The next step requires beating an opponent comfortable playing the same demanding, opportunistic baseball. The Brewers should have the edge when those approaches collide.
The clearest advantage is Milwaukee’s production against right-handed pitching. The Brewers ranked second in the majors with a .759 OPS against righties, compared with a .706 mark against lefties. Tampa Bay’s opening rotation of Nick Martinez, Drew Rasmussen and Freddy Peralta gives Milwaukee the matchup it should welcome.
That does not make any of those assignments easy. It does mean the Brewers can enter this series trusting an offensive strength established across the regular season. Sustained traffic, competitive at-bats and timely contact offer a credible route through an rotation.
Tampa Bay recognizes the problem. The Rays added left-hander Garrett Cleavinger to their World Series roster, expanding their options against Milwaukee. However, Cleavinger has not pitched in a major league game since early September. Asking him to deliver critical October outs introduces uncertainty.
Milwaukee’s relief options provide another reason for confidence. Trevor Megill, Abner Uribe, Aaron Ashby and DL Hall have carried postseason responsibility, with JoJo Romero contributing. Murphy can pursue favorable matchups rather than force a starter through an inning that threatens to unravel.
That flexibility matters behind Jacob Misiorowski. His velocity creates upside, but he failed to finish five innings in either of his first two postseason starts. The Brewers should prioritize effective outs over proving their ace can pitch deep into games.
The Rays deserve two victories in this prediction. Rasmussen and Peralta make a sweep unlikely, while Tampa Bay’s contact-oriented lineup can punish mistakes. Milwaukee must resist turning a difficult matchup into an exercise in overconfidence.
My projected path is a split in Milwaukee, two Brewers wins in three games at Tampa Bay, and a clincher back at American Family Field. That sequence leaves room for the Rays’ strengths without overlooking Milwaukee’s advantages.
I trust the Brewers to generate enough offense against right-handed starters and protect narrow leads with aggressive bullpen decisions. Six games should be enough for Milwaukee to turn its pennant into the franchise’s first World Series championship.
