Miami Hurricanes quarterback Darian Mensah has produced one of the most unreal passing statistics in college football through the first month of the 2026 season.
theScore highlighted Mensah’s remarkable start Friday night on X, formerly Twitter, noting that the Hurricanes quarterback has thrown more touchdown passes than incompletions through four games.
The numbers back it up.
Mensah has completed 94 of 106 passes for 1,211 yards, 14 touchdowns and zero interceptions, giving him an 88.7% completion rate and a 228.2 passer rating. That leaves him with only 12 incompletions — two fewer than his touchdown total.
Even more impressively, the ACC noted that Mensah is the only FBS quarterback since at least 2004 with 50 or more attempts through four games to record more touchdown passes than incompletions. He also leads the nation in completion percentage and passing efficiency entering Saturday’s matchup with Clemson.
Mensah has thrown at least three touchdown passes in every game this season. He opened the year with five scores in Miami’s 45-6 victory over Stanford before throwing three apiece against Florida A&M, Wake Forest and Central Michigan.
His underlying performance has been equally impressive. Pro Football Focus gave Mensah a 94.1 overall grade through four games, ranking first among 277 qualified quarterbacks. PFF also credited him with zero interceptions and zero turnover-worthy plays.
The competition gets considerably tougher Saturday.
No. 4 Miami travels to Clemson for a 7:30 p.m. ET ACC matchup on ABC, giving Mensah his biggest opportunity yet to prove that his historically efficient start can carry over against a conference opponent on the road.
