Denver Broncos quarterback Bo Nix is already showing why he’s the face of the franchise heading into his second NFL season.
Just days after the Broncos wrapped up their spring offseason program on June 12th, Nix quietly brought together teammates in Idaho for a series of player-led workouts from June 16-18. There were no social media posts, no fanfare, and no cameras—just focused preparation for the 2025 NFL season.
The initiative was revealed by tight end Adam Trautman during an interview with Mike Klis of 9News. Trautman shared that Nix organized the sessions with receivers, tight ends, and running backs to work on timing, chemistry, and off-field bonding.
“This was the first one where it wasn’t after the Fourth of July in my entire career,’’ Trautman told Klis. “It was actually pretty nice. I think everybody kind of liked that because you didn’t have time off, you jumped right back into it and you felt body-wise like you were ready to do it all.”
The three-day workout window gave players a chance to fine-tune their playbook knowledge and maintain rhythm before the final stretch of summer. Afterward, Broncos veterans had a month-long break before reporting for training camp this week.
Now recharged and ready to roll, Nix and the offensive unit are expected to build on that momentum as they prepare for preseason action next month.
Nix’s rookie season in 2024 set the bar high. He threw for 3,775 yards and 29 touchdowns with a 93.3 passer rating, leading the Broncos to a 10-7 record and their first playoff berth since 2015. He broke multiple franchise rookie records and proved to be a stabilizing force at a position that had been in flux since Peyton Manning’s retirement.
Now entering 2025, the Broncos hope this early commitment by their quarterback translates into even greater chemistry and execution. With second-year confidence, deeper knowledge of Sean Payton’s offense, and a strong supporting cast, Nix’s offseason leadership could make all the difference.
